If you extract the amd……zip file you will get this amd-driver-installer-catalystx After the drivers are installed in your system, now install the necessary pxpress package that is used for switching the graphic card from discrete to integrated and vice-versa.
I would try your solution, but rather than risking with having outdated kernel or breaking something, I’ll just settle with the open-source drivers.

If you have downloaded the packages already please paste them in the home rareon because you will be working as root in the home directory. Did you try to install Gnome Shell?
You need to give the permissions for the file to linkx it work in sudo for that you need to do this first of all.
